Given:

  • Velocity of particle increases by 100%.

To find:

  • % Change in KE ?

Calculation:

Let initial velocity be v , so initial kinetic energy will be :

KE1 = ½ × m × v²

  • Now, new velocity = v × 200/100 = 2v

So, new kinetic energy will be :

KE2 = ½ × m × (2v)² = 4 [KE1]

So, % change is :

\Delta KE\% =  \dfrac{(4 - 1)KE_{1} }{ KE_{1} }  \times 100\%

 \implies\Delta KE\% =  \dfrac{3KE_{1} }{ KE_{1} }  \times 100\%

 \implies\Delta KE\% = 300\%

So, %change in KE is 300%.
