nice question!!

there is water scarcity because of the following reasons:

  • there is a lot of pressure on the existing fresh water resources as we use the water for domestic and industrial purposes.
  • industries depend on them not only for their production but also for electricity in the form of hydro power that is used for machines.
  • the effluents are left in water bodies, causing harm to flora and fauna. it also causes salinity in the soil around it, rendering it unfit for any use.
  • farmers install their own irrigation systems that puts pressure on existing groundwater resources. also, the rain is acidic, polluting water resources.
  • moreover, we don't conserve water or use it judiciously. so, even if water is a renewable resource, there s water scarcity.
