If water is added to quick line in a beaker and you touch the bottom of the beaker what do you notice? what is the reaction​

When we add water to the quick lime, a slaked lime kind of suspension is formed.

While touching the beaker, we feel the heat.

When the suspension of the slaked lime settles down at the bottom of the speaker, a clear solution is formed.

When quick lime or calcium oxide is added to water we get calcium hydroxide or slaked lime..

The type of chemical reaction taking place is exothermic reaction because of the release of heat energy.. it can also be called as a combination reaction as calcium oxide mixes with water to form slaked lime..

The chemical reaction is as follows:-

CaO + H2O ----> Ca(OH)2 + Heat
