Answer: 25 cm

Explanation:

Laymbda =20cm

Time period = T

v=f lambda

v= 1/T * lambda

v = 1/T * 20 cm

S = vt

S= (20 / T) 1.25 T

S= 25 cm

Given :   wavelength of wave is 20 cm and time period is T.

To Find :  the distance travelled by crest on wave in 1.25T.

Solution:

the distance travelled by crest on wave  in 1 time period  =  wavelength

=> the distance travelled by crest  in 1 T  =  20 cm

=>  the distance travelled by crest  in 1.25 T  =  1.25 * 20 cm

=>  the distance travelled by crest  in 1.25 T  =  25 cm

Wavelength = Distance between consecutive crest or consecutive trough

Distance between n consecutive crest and trough is half of the wavelength
