Answer:

Numerator = 3

Denominator = 5

Therefore , 3/5

Step-by-step explanation

.

Let the fraction be x/y .

Now as per given ,

x+1/y-1 = 1

therefore, x-y=(-2).........................(eq.1)

x/y+1=1/2

therefore, 2x-y=1............................(eq.2)

Subtraction of eq 1 from 2 ...

We get x=3.

Substituting in eq 2.

We get ...

2x-y=1

2(3) - y = 1

6-y=1

(-y) = 1-6

-y=-5

Therefore,y= 5.

Suppose the fraction is x/y

If 1 is added to the numerator and 1 is subtracted to the denominator the fraction becomes 1

x+1/y-1 =1

=>x+1=y−1

=> x−y=−2 Equation (1)

If 1 is added to the denominator the fraction becomes half

x/y+1 = 1/2

=> 2x=y+1

2x−y=1 Equation (2)

On subtracting Equation 1 from 2 we get

2x−y−x+y=1+2

x=3

Substituting the value of x in equation 1 we get,

3−y=−2

y=5

x/y=3/5
