Answer:

Let the fraction be x/y

According to the question ,

X+1 /y-1= 1

= X-y= -2........(1)

X/y+1 =1/2

=2x-y= 1.................(2)

Subtracting equation (1) from equation (2) we obtain:- x=3

Substituting this value of x in equation (1) we obtain :-

3-y = -2

-y=-5

Y=5

Hence, the fraction is 3/5

Step-by-step explanation:

(x+1)/y = 1/2 , x/(y-1) = 1/3

=> y = (x+1)/2 , => y = (3x+1)

therefore, BTP,

=> (x+1)/2 = (3x+1)

=> (x+1) = 2(3x+1)

=> (x+1) = 6x+2

=> 6x-x = 1-2

=> 5x = -1

=> x = -1/5 , => y = 3x+1

=> y = (-1×3)/5 +1

=> y = (-3+5)/5

=> y = -8/5

hope this helps you
