Let the number be x.

Given,

2x + 7 = 49

2x = 49 - 7

2x = 42

x = 42÷2

Let the required number be n.

Then,

 \bf \:  \:  \huge \: \:  2n + 7 = 49 \\ \\  \leadsto \frak{ \: 2n = 49 - 7} \\ \\   \leadsto \frak{ \:2n = 42} \\ \\   \leadsto \frak{ \: \:  \: n =  \frac{42}{2} =  \red{21 }}

Hence,

  • 21 is the number which when doubled and added to 7 will result as 49.
