If we add common salt to water, will it increase or decrease the rate of evaporation? Why?

it will decrease the rate of evaporation... because salty water is hypotonic solution...

Sodium chloride is table salt and when it is added to water it breaks down into ions of sodium and chloride. Neither of them reacts to water so adding it to water will only change the volume

Nacl in non volatile solute due this no of solvent particles on the surface of the solution decrease hence common salt is added to water rate of evaporation decreases
