If we add one to each of numerator and denominator it become 2/3.However if 1 is subtracted of each numerator and it becomes 5.

then x+1/y+1=2/3
and solving this we get,
3x+2y=1 ...........1

Then x-1/y=5
Then x-5y=1 ........2

Solving 1 and 2 we get
y= -2/13
x=3/13.

now, x+1/y+1=2/3
and x-1/y=5
now by solving these two equations u can get the required answers.
