If we chew the grains like wheat, jowar, rice we will feel sweet. Why?

Hey there!

This is because digestion of food starts in the mouth itself. In our mouth, an enzyme called salivary amylase is secretd by the salivary glands which change the complex starch into simple sugar. Since, the starch gets converted into sugar, we feel sweet on chewing grains.
