If we consider solar system consisting of the
earth and sun only as one of the ideal
thermodynamic system. The sun work as source
of energy having temperature 6000K and the
earth as sink having temperature 300K, the
efficiency of solar system would be on the basis
of exchange of radiations
(A) 30%
(B) 65%
(C) 75%
(D) 95%

Given:

Energy Temperature = 6000K

Sink Temperature = 300K

To Find:

Efficiency of the solar system on the basis  of exchange of radiations

Solution:

Efficiency = n = Ts - Te/ Ts x 100%

Thus, substituting values in the formula -

n = 6000 - 300/6000 x 100%

n = 5700/6000 x 100%

n = 0.95 x 100%

n = 95%

Answer: The efficiency of solar system on the basis  of exchange of radiations is 95%.
