If we cross pure- bred violet coloured (dominant) flowers bearing pea plants with pure bred white coloured (recessive) flowers we will get pea plant of F1 generation. If we now self-cross the pea plants of the F1 generation, then we obtain pea plant of F2 generation.
i. What do the plants of F1 generation look like?
ii. State the ratio of violet flowers to white flowers in F2 generation.

Answer:

i. the F1 generation will be all violet flowers. phenotype will be violets but genotype will be heterogygous.

ii. the ration of F2 generation of violet and white flowers will be 3:1 .
