By dissolving copper sulfate, chalk powder and ink in wate rseparatewly then three different types of solutions will be formed namely true solution, suspension, and colloid.
What is the difference between true, suspension, and colloid solution?
- A homogeneous solution of solute and solvent through which light passes undisturbed is called a true solution. The size of the particle also remains the same as solute or solvent. Copper sulfate and water form a true solution.
- On the other hand, when chalk is dissolved in water it does not form a homogenous solution and light scatters thus it is a suspension.
- While the mixture of ink and water is a colloid and also light also scatters.
