If we have 1kg iron and 1kg cotton. Both have same mass but why we feel that iron is heavier than cotton?

I don't think it's true, but if felt so, it may be due to the density factor i.e, for the same area more mass is concentrated in the case of iron or the vice versa for cotton.

This is due to the difference in density while 1kg of iron would only be the size of your palm, 1kg of something like cotton would be the size of a cubic meter
