If we increase velocity of a particle by 24% and decrease mass by 11% then what will be the percentage change in momentum?

p = m × v

Now, v is increased by 24% , so

v'= v+ v×24%= 124v÷100

Again, mass 'm' is decreased by 11% so

m'= m- m×11%= 89m÷100

So, new linear momentum,

p'= 124×89mv÷10000

So change in momentum = p'-p

= 11036mv÷10000 - mv

= (11036-10000)mv÷10000

= 1036mv÷10000

Now, %age change

= change in p÷ initial p × 100

= 1036mv÷10000mv × 100

= 1036÷ 100

= 10.36%

robotliker6: Is it correct
Ajsharma1231: yes absolutely
robotliker6: Thanks
