electric switches are thermoplastic because they are bad conducters of heat also called insulaters which don not allow electricity to pass through by which we won't get shock while we switch on

usually electric switches are made up of thermo setting plastic.
thermo setting plastic strengthen during being heating ,but they cannot be remoulded or after their initial heat forming. when we use thermo plastic they melt down in the form of liquid .this causes shock when in contact, short circuit,etc
