b. Hypotonic solution will increase the size of red blood cell.

  1. Hypotonic solution is a solution with higher water concentration and low solute concentration. Keeping a red blood cell in such solution will result in endosmosis.
  2. Due to low solvent concentration in red blood cell, the solvent from solution will move inside red blood cell.
  3. This will cause swelling and hence increase in size of cell.
