If we put salt in water then will its water level increase?

If we put some salt in water, then the water level won't increase. Rather it's density would differ. This is because of the inter molecular space between in particles of water. The salt particles would fit into the spaces without harming the water level. But the level would differ if we continuously pour salt over it and cross the limit of saturation.
