If we put some sugar crystals on dry tongue,it never tastes but if we press it on palate we can sense the taste. Why?

Because when we keep sugar on our tongue the crystals wont go inside the tongue. If there is a pressure pushing the sugar crystals down then the sugar crystals will touches the taste buds. The pressure is put by palate which is present above the tongue.
