If we soak a seed in water for some time and then expose it to
air, it sprouts into a baby plant. If this baby plant is not sowed
into the soil, it dies. Why do you think that happens?​

because when you soak the seed it is protected by the soil there inside, and when we give water to it the seed it prepare it's food and develops into a baby plant.
