Let the number be x.
If we divide it by 2/5 , result would be x-2/5.
Again, if we divide the result by 3/8, we get (x-2/5)÷3/8
By given condition,
(x-2/5)÷3/8 = 11/4
[(5x-2)÷5]÷ 3/8 = 11/4
[(5x-2) ÷5] = 11/4 ×3/8
(5x-2)÷5 = 33/32
5x-2= 33/32×5
5x -2 = 165/32
5x = (165/32) + 2
5x = (165 + 64) ÷ 32
5x = 229÷32
x = (229/32) ÷ 5
x = 229/160
If we divide it by 2/5 , result would be x-2/5.
Again, if we divide the result by 3/8, we get (x-2/5)÷3/8
By given condition,
(x-2/5)÷3/8 = 11/4
[(5x-2)÷5]÷ 3/8 = 11/4
[(5x-2) ÷5] = 11/4 ×3/8
(5x-2)÷5 = 33/32
5x-2= 33/32×5
5x -2 = 165/32
5x = (165/32) + 2
5x = (165 + 64) ÷ 32
5x = 229÷32
x = (229/32) ÷ 5
x = 229/160
