If we throw some thing in the upwards direction ,then why it come in rest for some time,afterreaching at certain height???????

It is because of the gravity as the it counteracts the motion and tries to pull the object towards the earth. Therefore we can see that the motion of the object decreases and gradually becomes 0 by this time motion of the object stops and then it's under the influence of gravity which pulls it towards the center.
