If we try to hold glass with oil in our hand then it tends to slip because of reduction of friction.
Friction is the action of rubbing of one material to another. This friction helps to hold things tightly so, that it may not slip from grip.
Our chances of falling from a rough mat is very less than change of falling from marble floor as friction is more in mat than on marble floor.
But as we know that lubricants reduces friction such as oil. If friction is reduced then the grip becomes smooth and slippy and slips easily from our hand. That's why if we tend to hold the glass with oil in our hand, it tends to slip.
