It forms virtual, erect and diminished image.
A plane mirror not used as a rear view image. less wider field of view and it forms image same size of the object.
But convex mirror have very wider field of view because they are curved outward. So, the convex mirror enable the driver to view much larger than a plane mirror. Hence, it is used as rear view mirror in automobile to see object at the backside of vehicle.
