Dhruva, a young boy meditated on Lord Narayana under the instructions of Narada Muni for acquiring a Kingdom like his father… Being infuriated and badly hurt by the sharp insulting words of his step mother.. Dhruva decided to meditate upon Lord Narayana to get this benediction… Due to this boy's mighty determination the Supreme Lord was pleased and appeared before him… When Dhruva saw the divine form of Lord Narayana he became spell bound and out of sheer wonder he could not speak… Lord Narayana out of compassion touched the head of Dhruva with His conch shell and thus Dhruva said that He does not require anything because all his desires are satisfied by seeing the Lord's transcendental form… The Lord being complete in all respects satisfies the hearts of His devotees simply by His appearance.. Dhruva actually felt ashamed for asking a Kingdom from the Supreme Lord as he felt he was a searching for a pebble when the greatest most precious diamond has appeared before him. Seeing the determination and further realisation of this young devotee, Lord Narayana granted Him all material prosperity and Dhruva was not only a king who ruled the world for many thousands of years but also got a special loka as pole star which is the pivot of the planetary systems in this material universe..
