See the formula is,

GMm/r²
Which gives out the acc. of EARTH(GRAVITY)...

And W= m*acc.

IF the distance b/w the object and the earth is doubled the formula we get is....

GMm/(2r)²
=) GMm/4r²


this phone is the distance between the mass and the earth is doubled the rate will be a quarter of it....
