if x-1/2 is a factor of polynomial 2x^2+kx-12, then find out the value of k​

Answer:If x = 1/2 is the  zero of the polynomial 2x^2 + Kx-12 then,

p(1/2) = 0

⇒ 2(1/2)² + k (1/2) - 12 = 0

⇒1/2 + k/2 -12 = 0

⇒1+ k -24/2 = 0

⇒ k -23 = 0

⇒ k = 23
