Given:- x = - 1/2
( x is given that means if we put the value of x as -1/2 we get 0 as resultant )
So, putting value of x in p ( x )
3x² + 2kx - 3 = 0
3 × ( -1/2)² - 2k × (-1/2) - 3 = 0
3 × 1/4 + k - 3 = 0
( by taking 2 as LCM )
( 3 + 4k - 12 ) /2 = 0
-9 + 4k= 0
k = 9/4
