Hey
If x = 1/2 is a 0 therefore putting value of x as 1/2 we get 0 in the equation.
2(1/2)² +k(1/2)-12 = 0
2×1/4 + k/2 = 12
1/2 + k/2 = 12
k = 12*2 = > 24 - 1 => 23 answer
Hope it helps :)

Heya HERE is your answer

P(1/2) = 2× (1/2)² + k×1/2 - 12
=1/2 + k/2 - 12
= 1+k - 24/2

=>1+k-24/2 =0
=> 1+ k - 24=0
=> k-23=0
=> k = 23
