x=1- root 2
1/x=1/1-root 2
=1+root 2/-1
= -(1+root2)
x-1/x=1-root 2-{-(1+root2)}
=1-root2+1+root 2
=2
So x-1/x =2
Therefore (x-1/x)^2=(2)^2=4
1/x=1/1-root 2
=1+root 2/-1
= -(1+root2)
x-1/x=1-root 2-{-(1+root2)}
=1-root2+1+root 2
=2
So x-1/x =2
Therefore (x-1/x)^2=(2)^2=4
