Answer:

i) - 3/4

Step-by-step explanation:

8z+2-y

8(0)+2(-1/2)-1/4

0+(-2/4)-1/4

= -3/4

Given: x = -\frac{1}{2}

           y = \frac{1}{4}

           z = 0

To Find: i) 8z + 2x - y (Let it be equation 1)

              ii) z - y + 3x  (Let it be equation 2)

Solution:

i) Substituting the values of x, y, and z in equation 1,

8(0) + 2(-\frac{1}{2}) - \frac{1}{4}

= 0 -1 - \frac{1}{4}

= - ( 1 + \frac{1}{4} )

= - (\frac{4+1}{4})

= -\frac{5}{4}

= -1\frac{1}{4}

Answer: -1\frac{1}{4}

ii) Substituting the values of x, y, and z in equation 2,

0 - \frac{1}{4} + 3(-\frac{1}{2})

= -\frac{1}{4} -\frac{3}{2}

= -(\frac{1}{4} +\frac{3}{2} )

L.C.M of 2 and  4 = 4

- (\frac{1+6}{4} )

= -\frac{7}{4}

= -1\frac{3}{4}

Answer: -1\frac{3}{4}
