ANSWER:

Given:

  • (x+1,4) = (-5,y+2)

To Find:

  • Coordinates of (x,y)

Solution:

We are given that,

⇒ (x+1,4) = (-5,y+2)

To solve it, we will compare the values of x-coordinates in LHS & RHS and values of y-coordinates in LHS & RHS.

So,

Solving x-coordinates:

⇒ x + 1 = -5

Transposing 1 to RHS,

⇒ x = -5 - 1

⇒ x = -6 ————(1)

Solving y-coordinates:

⇒ 4 = y + 2

Transposing 2 to LHS,

⇒ 4 - 2 = y

⇒ y = 4 - 2

⇒ y = 2 ————(2)

So, by (1) & (2),

⇒ Coordinates of (x,y) = (-6,2)
