(x+1) and (x+2) are factors
.: x = -1 or x = -2. -8+12+6a+b

PUT x = -1

.: -1+3+3a+b
.: 2+3a+ b
.: 3a + b = -2 -----------(1)

PUT x = -2

.: -8+12+6a+b
.: 4+6a+b
.: 6a + b = -4 --------------(2)

SUBTRACT (1) FROM (2)

.: 3a = -2
.: a = -2÷3

PUT a = -2÷3 IN (1)

3a + b = -2
.: 3(-2÷3) + b = -2
.: -2 + b =-2
.: b = 0

.: a = -2÷3 and b = 0 is the value of a and b...
