Answer :-

a = 2

Solution :-

f(x) = ax³ + x² - 2x + 4a - 9

g(x) = x + 1

Find the zero of x + 1

To find zero of x + 1 equate x + 1 to zero

x + 1 = 0

x = - 1

By factor theorem f(-1) = 0

f(-1) = 0

⇒ a(-1)³ + (-1)² - 2(-1) + 4a - 9 = 0

⇒ a(-1) + 1 + 2 + 4a - 9 = 0

⇒ - 1a + 3 + 4a - 9 = 0

⇒ 3a - 6 = 0

⇒ 3a = 6

⇒ a = 6/3

⇒ a = 2
