Answer:

note; if (x-a) is a factor of any polynomial then ,x=a will be the xero.

also,if x=a is the zero of polynomial,then at x=a ,the polynomial becomes zero.

here ,it is given that (x-1) is a factor of the given polynomial,thus x=1 will be it's zero ,

thus at x=1 ,

kx3-4kx+4k-1=0

ie.

k(1)^3 -4k(1)+4k-1=0

k-4k+4k-1=0

k=1

hence ,the required value of k is 1.

I hope it would help you.

(x-1) is a factor of kx³ - 4kx + 4k - 1

___________ [GIVEN]

• We have to find the value of k.

_______________________________

• x - 1 = 0

x = 1

\implies k(1)³ - 4k(1) + 4k - 1 = 0

\implies k { \cancel{ - 4k}   \:{  \cancel{ +  4k}}} - 1 = 0

\implies k - 1 = 0

\implies k = 1
