f(x) = 2x² + kx

And (x + 1) is factor of f(x).

____________ [ GIVEN ]

• We have to find the value of x.

Now..

(x + 1) is a factor of f(x)

So,

→ x + 1 = 0

→ x = - 1

Put value of x in f(x)

→ f(-1) = 2(-1)² + k(-1)

→ 0 = 2 - k

→ - 2 = - k

→ 2 = k

→ k = 2
