Answer:

x-1 is a factor so we write it

x-1= 0

x= 1

Now we have polynomial,

3x+ mx= 0

put value of x in this equation

3×1 +m×1= 0

3+m=0

m= -3

I hope it helps u

Given :

  • ( x - 1 ) is a factor of the Polynomial 3x + mx.

To Find :

  • The value of m.

From ( x - 1 ),

 \longrightarrow{{ \sf(x - 1) = 0}}

 \longrightarrow{ \boxed{ \sf{x = 1}}}

Now let's substitute the value of x in the given Polynomial.

 \longrightarrow{ \sf{3x + mx = 0}}

 \longrightarrow{ \sf{3(1) + m(1) = 0}}

 \longrightarrow{ \sf{3 + m = 0}}

 \longrightarrow{  \boxed{\sf{m =  - 3}}}
