\textbf{Answer} !!

_______________________

x - 1 \:is \:the\: factor\: of \:given \:polynomial \\ \\ Put \: it's \: value \: x = 1 \\ \\ p ( x ) = 3 {x}^{4} - 4 {x}^{3} - ax + 2 \\ \\ p ( 1 ) = 3 {( 1 )}^{4} - 4 {(1)}^3 - a ( 1 ) + 2 \\ \\ = > 3 ( 1 ) - 4 ( 1 ) - a + 2 \\ \\ = > 3 - 4 - a + 2 \\ \\ Using \: BODMAS \\ \\ = > 3 - a - 2 \\ \\ = > + 1 - a \\ \\ = >- a = - 1 \\ \\=> a = 1 \\ \\Hence \: value \:of \:a \:is\:  1

Thanks !!

So here's your answer !!

________________

x - 1 = 0

x = + 1

put value of x in the polynomial

p ( x ) = 3x^4 - 4x^3 - ax + 2

p ( 1 ) = 3 (1)^4 - 4(1)^3 - a(1) + 2

p ( 1 ) = 3 - 4 - a + 2

p ( 1 ) = 5 - 4 - a

p ( 1 ) = 1 - a

a = + 1
