x+1=0
x= -1

f(x)=0
x²-3ax+3a-7=0
(-1)²-3(a)(-1)+3(a)-7=0
1+3a+3a-7=0
6a-6=0
6a=6
a=6/6
a=1

hope this helps you

let given polynomial be f(x)

so f(x) = x^2 -3ax+3a-7

given that ( x+1) is a factor of f(x)

so by using factor theorem

=) x+ 1 = 0

=) x = -1

put x = -1 in f(x)

so f(-1 ) = 0 ---------(1) from factor theorem.

=) (-1)^2 -3a(-1) +3a -7 =0

=) 1 +3a +3a -7 =0

=) 1 + 6a - 7 =0

=) 6a - 6 =0

=) 6a = 6

=) a = 6/6 = 1

=) a = 1 ans.

value of a is 1 ______________________________
