if (X + 1) is a factor of X^m+1

then X = -1 should satisfy the equation.On putting X =-1 in equation.

   (-1)^m+1 = 0

    (-1)^m+1 = (-1)^0

    Now bases are same compare powers.

    m+1 = 0

    m = -1

  Thanks
