Answer:

x + 1 = 0

x =  - 1

2 {x}^{2}   + kx

2( - 1)2 + k( - 1)

2(-1)²-k

2-k=0

k=2 is the answer of this

Answer : 3

Solution :

Given that :

(x + 1)    is a factor of polynomial  2x^2 + kx + 1

then   ,x + 1 = 0 => x = -1

So, if the x + 1 is a factor of given polynomial then the value of given polynomial will be zero at the point   x = -1

2(-1)^2+k(-1)+1 = 0

=> 2-k+1 = 0

=> 3-k = 0

=> k = 3

So, the value of k will be 3

hope it helps
