SOLUTION :
Given : polynomial f(x) = x³ -2x² + 4x + k and x = 1 is a zero of f(x).
f(x) = x³ -2x² + 4x + k
f(1) = 1³ - 2(1)² + 4 ×1 + k
Put f(x) = 0
0 = 1 - 2 + 4 + k
0 = -1 + 4 + k
0 = 3 + k
k = -3
Hence, the value of k is -3 .

Hi dear !!!
x = 1 is zero of polynomial .
so
f (x ) = x³ -2x² + 4x + k
f (1) = > (1)³ -2× (1)² + 4× 1 + k = 0
=> 1 -2+ 4 + k = 0
k = -3
hope it help you dear !!!!
thanks !!!
