Answer:

Given that

x = 1

ax²+bx+2 = 0

put the value of x = 1

a×(1)²+b×1+2 = 0

a+b = -2 ...............(i)

x²+x+b = 0

put x = 1

(1)²+1+b = 0

1+1+b = 0

b = -2 .........(ii)

put the value of b = -2 in eq.(i)

a+b = -2

a+(-2) = -2

a = -2+2

a = 0

ab = ab

ab = 0×(-2)

ab = 0

Hence, the value of ab is zero
