Answer:

⇒  (x−a) is factor of x3−ax2+2x+a−1

⇒  Then, a is the zero of polynomial p(x)=x3−ax2+2x+a−1

⇒  p(x)=x3−ax2+2x+a−1

⇒  p(a)=(a)3−a(a)2+2(a)+a−1

⇒  0=a3−a3+2a+a−1

⇒  a3−a3+2a+a−1=0

⇒  3a−1=0

⇒  3a=1

∴   a=31

 =  {x}^{3}  - a {x}^{2}  + 5x

x + 1 = 0 \\ x =   - 1

 =  {( - 1)}^{3}  - a( { - 1)}^{2}  + 5( - 1)

 =  - 1 - a - 5

 =  - 6 - a

 - a =  - 6

a = 6
