 {(x - 1)}^{2}  = 8  \\ (x - 1) = 2 \sqrt{2}  \\ x = 2 \sqrt{2 }  + 1 \\  \\  {(x + 1)}^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  + 1 + 2x \\  =  {(2 \sqrt{2} + 1) }^{2}  + 1 + 4 \sqrt{2}  \\ 8 + 1 + 4 \sqrt{2}  + 1 + 4 \sqrt{2}  \\  = 10 + 8 \sqrt{2}
