Hi , It is given that ,
x + 1/x = 2 ----( 1 ) *********************************
We know the algebraic identity:
a³ + b³ + 3ab(a + b) = (a + b)³ ************************************
Here ,.
a = x , b = 1/x
x³+1/x³+3×x×1/x (x+1/x) = (x+1/x)³
=> x³ + 1/x³ + 3(x + 1/x ) = ( x + 1/x )³
=>x³ + 1/x³ + 3 × 2 = 2³ [ from ( 1 ) ]
x³ + 1/x³ + 6 = 8
x³ + 1/x³ = 8 - 6
= 2
I hope this helps you.
