x -  \frac{1}{x}  =  \sqrt{3}  \\  {( x -  \frac{1}{x} )}^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  +   \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }    - 2 \times x \times  \frac{1}{x}   \\  {( \sqrt{3} )}^{2} =  {x}^{2}  +   \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} } - 2 \\ 3 + 2 =  {x}^{2}  +   \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  = 5
