Given Equation is x - 1/x = 3.
On Squaring both sides, we get
(x - 1/x)^2 = (3)^2
x^2 + 1/x^2 - 2 * x * 1/x = 9
x^2 + 1/x^2 - 2 = 9
x^2 + 1/x^2 = 9 + 2
x^2 + 1/x^2 = 11.
