x + 1/x = 4. ..(1)

find here

x⁴ + 1/x⁴=?

we know that,

(a+b)²= a²+b²+2ab

so,

(x + 1/x)²= x²+ 1/x² + 2

put value here by (1)

(4)²= x²+ 1/x² + 2

16 = x²+ 1/x² + 2

x²+ 1/x² = 16-2

x²+ 1/x² = 14. ..(2)

squaring both sides..,

we get,

(x²+ 1/x² )² = 14².

x⁴+1/x⁴ + 2= 196

x⁴+1/x⁴ = 196 -2

x⁴+1/x⁴ = 194
