Hi friend here is your answer

x + 1 \div x = 4 \\ squaring \: both \: sides \\ (x - 1 \div x)^{2}  + 4x \times 1 \div x = 16 \\ (x - 1 \div x)^{2}    + 4 = 16 \\ (x - 1 \div x)^{2}  = 12 \\ (x - 1 \div x) =  \sqrt{12}
Hope it helps you.

aryan1128: sir, why did u multiply 4x by 1/x?
aryan1128: right thanks!
tanvitanwar1201: i am not sure about your answer if you are squaring both sides how can you write4x*1/x
tanvitanwar1201: okay i got it
aryan1128: and what about for x^3-1/x^3
aryan1128: just tell me the formula, that will be enough, thanks
